CAUSES OF XANTHELASMAS
Approximately 50% of patients who develop Xanthelasma palpebrum have dyslipidemias or abnormal cholesterol levels.
The other 50% percent of patients who develop xanthelasma have normal lipid levels.
SYMPTOMS OF XANTHELASMA
Symptoms of xanthelasma include yellowish, painless swellings on the eyelids.
TREATMENT FOR XANTHELASMA
The treatment for xanthelasma treatment is usually excision by:
1. Surgical excision
2. Ablation with a carbon dioxide and argon laser
3. Chemical cauterization
