CAUSES OF PALMOPLANTAR ECCRINE HIDRADENITIS
The exact cause of idiopathic recurrent palmoplantar eccrine hidradenitis is not known.
Factors suspected to trigger this condition include:
1. Excessive sweating
2. Prolonged wetness
3. Physical activity
SYMPTOMS OF PALMOPLANTAR ECCRINE HIDRADENITIS
Symptoms of idiopathic recurrent palmoplantar eccrine hidradenitis include painful, reddish to violet colored swellings on the soles and palms.
TREATMENT OF PALMOPLANTAR ECCRINE HIDRADENITIS
Idiopathic recurrent palmoplantar eccrine hidradenitis is a self-limiting condition which usually resolves in 2-4 weeks. Topical non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS) can be applied. Paracetamol and other pain killers can also be prescribed.
