dermatosis papulosa nigra

Dear Patient

This condition is known as Dermatosis Papulosa Nigra (DPN).

DPN can be treated with curettage and light electrodessication (cutting and burning), cryotherapy (freezing with liquid nitrogen) and snip excision. Complications of treatment include increased and decreased pigmentation, scarring and keloid formation.

CO2 and Nd:YAG laser ablation can also used.

Sunscreen of at least SPF 30 should be used after their removal.
